Moms: Real, Moms.
I thrive on connecting individuals and brands - I am a born networker. There is little that gives me more joy than connecting the dots and boasting about brands I love. Below, I bring you moms that I have met in my journey whose stories I wish to share with you. Movers and shakers whose influence is evident at the playground, in their work environments or on social media. Real moms, like you and I.
Tamara Berkhaug: OC Native. SF Resident.
Tamara is the mother to 2 year old Atlas & her labradoodle, Sydney! She and her husband, Damon, live in Cole Valley. She founded our new mom lunch in Cole Valley & our working mom lunch in San Francisco!
Damon and I live in Cole Valley, San Francisco and both of us are in tech. Damon heads staffing at Autodesk, and I lead gaming partnerships for Snapchat. We love traveling with our son to places around the world - this past summer we took Atlas to Spain! If we aren't traveling - we enjoy long walks, train watching, trips to the zoo (so we can ride the train, mostly), and having friends over for dinner. Damon and I strive to balance relaxing nights at home with fun nights out with friends.
Prior to going back to work when my son was 2, I stayed home with him in San Francisco. I started a new mothers group, which grew to become a mainstay in the community even though my son and I "outgrew" it. By starting this new moms group I was able to build a large network of mom friends in city - so much so that my son is often called "The Mayor of Cole Valley."
Tam's favorite brands: The Ergo or Tula (she stills wears Atlas!), Native shoes, Bugaboo, mini rondini, superga, nike and patagonia.
Meg Shackleton: Boston native, San Francisco resident.
Meg Shackleton is the owner of jewelry store, Margaret Elizabeth, with 3 brick and mortar locations in the Bay Area.
Meg writes: At Margaret Elizabeth I'm focused on making women feel beautiful when they wear our jewelry. We are a company of women designing for women. As a business owner & designer, travel is a big part of my life and where I seek inspiration. As a family, our travels have taken us all over the world- morocco, europe, hawaii, mexico, and many a cross country trip to the East Coast. I think we know every flight attendant that frequents the SFO - Boston route :) We also love exploring the regions around our native San Francisco.
Meg's favorite brands when it comes to Motherhood: Uppa Baby, Stokke, Solly Baby, Beaufort Bonnet Company, Patagonia
Kelly Stone Muessig:
Michigan Native. SF Resident.
Kelly and her husband are mid-sunset residents. I stumbled upon Kelly on instagram and quickly developed a mom crush. Come on, tell me you don't when you start following her! Mom to Penny, 4, and Ruby, 18 months, Kelly's style marries midwestern chic and her husband's German roots. Earthy. Neutral. Simplistic gorgeous. Wait until you meet her - and her wicked sense of humor - in person!
Kelly writes: We travel A LOT! We try to go to Germany once a year to see my husband's family and we visit mine a lot in Michigan. I work part time as a nurse so I'm home with the girls a lot. I run my very small (and more of a hobby) Etsy shop: pennies&rubies
I use my Instagram mainly for posting pictures of the girls and for supporting small shops...and meeting more moms! We also just started cooking a lot, trying to live a healthier life and set a better example for the girls!
Baltimore native. SF resident.
Founder of Well Woman
I met Phyllis when I first moved to San Francisco. A friend told me, "between the both of you, you likely know all of the Bay Area." They weren't kidding! Anywhere you go, Phyllis is bumping into a friend, client or peer. She sat on our first MSM panel and is a source of great inspiration. A champion of self care for moms, everywhere.
Phyllis writes: My husband and I live on the north side of San Francisco in a old victorian. We have two kids (Elise is 5.5 and GJ is 2) and a dog who keep us very busy. We've lived in SF since 2009 and love it!
As for me, I am a nutrition nut! Food has always been a big part of my life but in aiding in my recovery from postpartum depression after my first child was born, food has a whole new meaning to me. Lifestyle is pretty darn important too! It's all about balance which is why as a Health Coach, I focus on holistic self-care for moms through simple dietary and lifestyle changes. Everything is interconnected so us moms have got to prioritize ourselves!
Originally from the east coast. that tends to be where most of our travel as a family takes us. We are pretty lucky because our families live in the same state just 20 minutes apart. It makes trips easier. We also love to go to Utah each winter to ski. When we don't have the kids my husband and I like to travel in and around Europe, Australia, and we LOVE anything tropical: especially the Caribbean.
P's favorite clothing companies - for mom: AG, Michael Stars, Collective Concepts, Lululemon. I love the personal shopping experience at Ambiance.
I never leave home without: my Swell water bottle.
On a Saturday morning, you will find us...My husband and I each get a weekend morning and Saturday morning is mine so I go to an 8am spin class and am usually home by 9:30/9:45 when we typically have brunch as a family before taking our dog on a walk.
Heather Wilkerson: Fayetteville, Arkansas Native. SF Resident.
Heather is a serious San Francisco connoisseur. She writes: Craft coffee, tall buildings, no seasons, local organic food, I could go on and on about the things I love about this city! Oftentimes instead of traveling, we like to retreat by exploring a different neighborhood of the city. Each one has adorable shops and so many unique offerings. My job is perfect for me because it allows me to talk about San Francisco all day!"
I work as a realtor at Vanguard Properties, along with my husband, Drew. I love helping people buy and sell homes in this incredible city! And our little girl, Phoebe, gets to make an appearance at client meetings from time to time :)
Heather's favorite products: Nuna, Fawn Design, basically everything at Sprout San Francisco
Doesn't leave home without: La Croix!

Jennifer Morrison: East Coast Native. Park Slope, BK Resident
Jen is a former publicist who now spends her days wrangling two kids in the beautiful Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn. A self proclaimed Martha Stewart wannabe she enjoys anything creative and has started her own handcrafted children's line, anchor & adorn. Jenn writes: Sometimes I like to take the craziness on the road and explore areas around home including everywhere up and down the East Coast (we recently moved back from SF so we are reintroducing ourselves to the East), the Hamptons and abroad including Hawaii, the Caribbean, Italy and France.
Favorite clothing companies for mom:
I like anything that is affordable, but on trend. Having small children, I need to have items that don't cost a fortune so I don't feel bad getting dirty or throwing anything out. I do a lot of shopping at Gap, H&M, Zara and Old Navy.
On a Saturday morning you'll find us: After my husband makes breakfast for the fam, we head out to our local coffee shop on the way to swim class for my oldest child, Colette. After class we usually head to a park for a couple hours or head into the city to walk around the NYC streets. If the weather is nice you will ALWAYS find us outside (as my father would say, to spend time inside when the sun is shining is a sin--hahah).
Genevieve is the founder and CEO of Tutu School, a national collection of ballet schools for young children. I'm also the mother of three boys - an eight year-old and three year-old twins, the wife of a photographer, and a proud resident of Chicago who spends an awful lot of time in San Francisco for someone who doesn't actually live there.
Your favorite gear companies - what would you like to trial
Any active kid gear for preschoolers and grade schoolers (balance bikes, scooters, etc.), and any preschool school-related accessories (backpacks, lunch containers, etc.).

On a Saturday morning, you will find us...
Wandering with a wagon full of kids somewhere in the general direction of caffeine and a playground (potentially still in our pajamas, probably accessorized with rain boots, cloudy skies or no).
Can't leave home without...
A gigantiv bag filled with everything from my laptop and make-up to animal figures and fruit snacks.
