Ashley Koch: Vibrantly Healthy Kids
Feeding a Young Family
Feeding kids healthy food is easy...said no parent ever! 90% of a child’s brain is developed by the age of 5. The brain is far more impressionable in early life than in maturity. Therefore, the decisions and experiences your child has in the first 5 years can shape them for a lifetime. It is important to teach children that food is the information and energy the body needs to function, grow and thrive. Studies also confirm that food experiences in a child’s first 2 years of life predict dietary variety in school-aged children. As a result, the time and effort you put in now will pay off in the many years to come. I will teach you practical tips and tricks to help you teach your children to love healthy food. I will share my favorite nutrient dense foods that you can include in your family routine.
Leah Keller: Dia Method
Mindful self-care as a path to mindful parenting.
When we take care of ourselves, we’re better parents. More calm, more patient, more present. One critical area of self-care that understandably goes by the wayside for parents: exercise. Time is limited, so workouts need to be efficient and effective. The important first step to keep you safe and to get the most out of all of your activities (whether working out or lifting a toddler), is to engage your core deeply, safely and strategically. I’ll show you how to do just that. I’ll teach you the foundational exercise of The Dia Method, proven to restore the core postnatally in just 10 minutes a day, and I’ll demo the basics on how to incorporate that core activation into everything you do for maximum efficiency and effectiveness. I will also provide a hands-on diastasis recti check for anyone who’s wondering whether or not their abdominal muscles have separated (a common reason why your core might not feel quite the same since having a baby). Come join us, bring your questions, and learn how to restore your amazing, resilient body in just minutes a day!
